Sicilian Deep Dish Pizza & Grandma Pie

Sal’s is also known for our Sicilian-style pizza and Grandma pie. Our Sicilian-style has a thick crust and our Grandma-style has a medium crust, which is different from the thin crust New York-style. Our Sicilian-style pizza is made with traditional pizza sauce, whereas the sauce on our Grandma pie is made in a secret way to give it more depth of flavor.

Brooklyn Style Pizza

Brooklyn-style pizza is another popular menu item at Sal’s. Our Brooklyn-style pizza is made with a blend of different mozzarella cheeses and is topped with parmesan and oregano before it is cooked in the oven. You can choose Brooklyn-style for both NY pizza and Grandma-style pizza.

S Are you looking for delicious New York or Sicilian-style pizza near Irvine, California? If so, you’re in luck! Sal’s Pizzeria is opening up our third location within the next few months in Tustin, California. We are going to be located in the District at Tustin, right next to the AMC movie theater. If you are coming from Irvine, you are minutes away from the District at Tustin and can take the streets to get there or easily get on the 5 freeway. 

The original Sal’s Pizzeria was created in 2019 by Matt Darienzo. The story behind Sal’s Pizzeria is that Matt’s father-in-law is Sal and Matt loved his pizza. Being from New York, Matt was very picky when it came to pizza and would only eat Sal’s pizza when he moved to California. Sal only made pizza on special occasions, which got Matt thinking about opening a pizzeria so that both he and the world could enjoy Sal’s amazing pizza whenever we all want. Opening up the first location in 2019 was a success so the second location was opened in 2020, and now our third location is opening in 2022. 

Sal’s Pizzeria is home to the Grandma Pie and is known for our New York-style thin-crust pizza and our Sicilian-style thick crust pizza. But don’t be fooled, we offer more than pizzas. On our menu, you will find traditional Italian food staples like calzones, pinwheels, strombolis, different kinds of pasta, heroes, salads, garlic knots, Italian desserts, and more! We are so excited to open up our new location near Irvine, and we hope you enjoy Sal’s pizza as much as we do!
